Abu Dhabi Infrastructure Pipeline: The AED55 Billion Figures and Project Allocations

Abu Dhabi has approved 24 new infrastructure projects under a AED55 billion public-private partnership pipeline, with tenders scheduled to launch throughout 2026 and 2027. The Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure Centre oversees the portfolio as part of its total capital programme valued at over Dh209 billion across more than 500 active projects.
Road Network Allocations
The largest share directs AED35 billion toward 11 major road developments. These cover more than 300km of new and upgraded roads, tunnels and intersections. Ongoing transport work includes the Mid-Island Parkway linking Al Reem to Khalifa City with expected completion in 2028 and the AUH Midfield Terminal expansion to 700,000 square metres.
Water, Flood Control and Social Projects
A further AED11 billion funds five urban and water infrastructure projects covering dams, flood control and stormwater upgrades. AED9 billion supports eight social projects including schools and healthcare assets. The Abu Dhabi Executive Council approved an additional AED687 million residential project in Al Hayer, Al Ain, alongside a framework with Aldar Properties.
2025 Delivery Statistics
In 2025 the emirate completed 31 infrastructure projects. These delivered 89 new parks, 85km of cycling tracks, three tunnels and two bridges. The same year Abu Dhabi launched 42 new residential projects targeting over 40,000 homes and plots for citizens at a total cost of AED106 billion with completion targeted by 2029. Neighbourhood pipelines include more than 8,000 units on Yas Island, 27 off-plan developments on Saadiyat Island and 10 projects on Al Reem Island.
Next Steps for the Pipeline
Tenders for the 24 projects will be marketed through 2026 and 2027 under the existing ADPIC oversight structure. Residents and businesses can monitor project updates through official Abu Dhabi government channels as individual packages are released.
