International Tennis Centre Prepares for Grassroots Finals

The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge launched the 3rd Abu Dhabi Sports Championship for Schools and Universities. It involves 26,000 students across 10 individual sports and 3 team sports. The Abu Dhabi All-Stars initiative, which began in May 2025, scouts athletes for training in football, basketball, table tennis and badminton. The inaugural Abu Dhabi World Schools Festival is scheduled for December 2024 with participants aged 15 to 18 from over 21 countries in rugby, cricket, hockey and netball.

The scale of participation, including the 26,000 students in the ADEK championship, requires consistent access to established sports sites across Abu Dhabi.

Upcoming phases of the Road to Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open will continue to route selected youth players to the International Tennis Centre. Organizers maintain the schedule for finals in early 2026 while school-level events use available infrastructure for ongoing competitions.
