Abu Dhabi Venues Draw Record Summer Crowds as Heat Drives Residents Indoors
Venues across the capital report stronger attendance as residents seek air-conditioned spots amid July heat.
How we reported this

Abu Dhabi nightlife operators recorded a 22 percent rise in table bookings at major venues during the first week of July compared with the same period last year.
The increase comes as daytime temperatures remain above 42 degrees Celsius, pushing more people toward indoor and waterfront venues that open later in the evening. Local tourism figures from the Department of Culture and Tourism show domestic visitors accounted for 61 percent of hotel guests last month, many of whom extend their stays into the social hours after 10 p.m.
Key districts seeing activity
Al Maryah Island continues to host the largest concentration of late-night venues, with The Edition Abu Dhabi reporting sold-out Friday sessions at its rooftop bar through the end of the month. On Yas Island, the Yas Bay Waterfront district added extended hours at three beach clubs until 2 a.m. on weekends, a change implemented on 1 July to accommodate demand from residents in nearby Khalifa City. Both locations sit within a 25-minute drive of central Abu Dhabi via the Sheikh Zayed Bridge, making them accessible for groups arriving after dinner.
Entry prices at these spots range from 150 AED for standard admission to 350 AED for packages that include a reserved table and two drinks. The Yas Bay extension follows a similar adjustment at the St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, where the late-night lounge now operates until 3 a.m. on Thursdays and Saturdays.
Practical steps for visitors
Reservations through venue apps remain necessary for groups larger than four, with most locations releasing tables at 6 p.m. the day prior. Those planning to move between Al Maryah Island and Yas Island should note that ride-hailing wait times average 12 minutes after midnight on weekends. The next round of extended hours begins on 19 July at both districts, coinciding with the final weekend of the current summer promotion.
