Khalifa University Football Star Ahmed Al-Mansoori Leads Abu Dhabi Scoring

Khalifa University forward Ahmed Al-Mansoori scored twice in a 3-1 win over a visiting Sharjah side on July 9, pushing his season tally to 18 goals in eight games. The result lifted the team into first place in the UAE College League standings.

College soccer programs across the emirates have gained visibility this summer after the federation adjusted its calendar to include more midweek fixtures. The change allows students at federal universities to balance classes with matches without missing exam periods that begin in late August.

Daily sessions at Zayed Sports City

Al-Mansoori trains six mornings a week at the indoor pitches inside Zayed Sports City on Airport Road. The squad also uses the weight room at the Khalifa University campus on Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum Street before heading to evening drills near the Corniche. Both venues sit less than 15 minutes apart by car during off-peak hours.

League records show Khalifa University has averaged 2.4 goals per game since the season opened on May 12. Ticket data released by the organising committee lists 1,850 spectators at the July 9 fixture, the highest single-match figure for any college game this year. Average gate receipts reached 45 dirhams per entry.

Next fixture at Al Nahyan Stadium

The team travels to Al Nahyan Stadium on July 16 for a top-of-the-table clash against United Arab Emirates University. Supporters can purchase 30-dirham general admission tickets through the university athletics office until July 14. Students holding valid Khalifa University ID cards enter free with advance registration at the campus sports desk.
