AI tools tailored to energy and logistics give local firms an edge that draws international attention.

More than 180 Abu Dhabi companies deployed AI systems for supply chain and resource management in the first half of 2026.
The timing aligns with global shipping disruptions near the Strait of Hormuz and rising demand for efficient energy operations inside the UAE. Firms here now treat AI as a direct cost saver rather than an experiment, with local adoption rates running ahead of many European and Asian hubs.
Masdar City hosts the AI testing facilities used by logistics operators along Sheikh Zayed Street, where sensors track fuel use in real time. At the same time, Hub71 on Yas Island runs accelerator programs that pair startups with ADNOC subsidiaries to refine predictive maintenance models. These two sites sit at the center of daily collaboration between government funds and private operators.
One program at Khalifa University, launched in March 2025, has already trained 340 engineers on edge computing applications for desert conditions. The effort produced software now used by three port operators to cut idle vessel time by 12 percent on average.
Investment records show AED 1.2 billion allocated to AI projects across Abu Dhabi in 2025, according to filings with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office. That figure covers hardware purchases and pilot deployments at sites inside the Abu Dhabi Global Market district.
Businesses planning to enter the local market should first contact the Masdar City permitting office for access to shared data sets on energy use. Checking open calls at Hub71 before September will help new entrants align with the next funding round focused on maritime AI tools.
Companies that skip these steps risk duplicating work already completed by firms operating from Saadiyat Island offices.
