Footfall at waterfront bars and clubs in Abu Dhabi rose noticeably in the first week of July, with Yas Island locations logging 18,400 visitors between 1 and 7 July according to internal tallies shared by the Yas Island management office.
The increase coincides with the start of the summer events calendar and the opening of several new late-night terraces that stay open past midnight when outdoor temperatures fall below 35 degrees Celsius. Local operators say the pattern matches what happened in July 2025, when similar extensions drew repeat crowds from the mainland districts of Al Maryah and Al Raha.
At Iris Yas Bay, the terrace added a second DJ slot on Thursdays that runs until 2 a.m., while the adjacent rooftop at the St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort introduced a members-only lounge that opened its doors on 3 July. Both spots sit within a 15-minute drive of each other along the E12 highway, giving residents on the Corniche a direct route without crossing into Dubai traffic. The Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation has also scheduled three pop-up sound-system nights at the same Yas Bay promenade through the end of the month.
Further east on Saadiyat, the beach club at the Park Hyatt has extended its Friday session by two hours and now accepts walk-ins after 10 p.m. for the first time since last summer. Staff there noted that reservations for tables of four climbed from 65 on the first Friday in June to 92 on 4 July.
Entry prices at the new terraces start at 120 AED on weekdays and rise to 180 AED on weekends, with the fee waived for guests staying at partner hotels. The Yas Island authority has published a July schedule on its website that lists 14 separate events, including two ticketed boat parties departing from Yas Marina at 11 p.m. on 18 and 25 July. Residents who want to avoid peak queues are advised to book through the individual venue apps at least 48 hours ahead, especially for Friday and Saturday slots.
Transport options include the free Yas Island shuttle that runs every 20 minutes from 8 p.m. until 3 a.m., stopping at the main hotels and the Yas Mall car park. For those driving, parking at Yas Bay remains free after 9 p.m. on event nights.
