Bookings for local tours and experiences in Abu Dhabi rose sharply in the first week of July, with several operators extending their schedules through the end of the month.
The increase comes as residents and short-stay visitors seek organised outings that start before 8 a.m. and finish before midday heat peaks on Corniche Road and Saadiyat Island. Tour companies report that families with school-age children account for most of the new reservations.
Two programmes stand out. The Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority runs its Discover Saadiyat series, which includes guided walks around the Louvre Abu Dhabi plaza and the nearby mangroves. Separate sessions organised by the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre take groups through the mosque’s marble courtyards and the adjacent cultural archive building on 18th Street.
Figures released by the tourism authority show 1.2 million visits to the mosque in the first half of 2026, with add-on guided experiences up 20 percent compared with the same period last year. Standard mosque tours cost 50 dirhams per adult, while the Saadiyat walks start at 180 dirhams and run daily at 6:45 a.m. until 31 August.
Operators have also added early-morning routes along the Corniche between the Emirates Palace roundabout and the Hilton Abu Dhabi. These 90-minute walks stop at the fish market in Al Mina and the public beach near the British Club, with groups limited to 12 people to keep pace steady in the humidity. Several hotels on the Corniche now bundle the walks with breakfast vouchers.
Slots for the rest of July can be reserved through the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority website or at the information desk inside the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque visitor centre. Walk-up places remain available only on weekday mornings, and groups of more than eight must book at least 48 hours ahead. Participants are advised to wear light clothing, carry water and arrive 15 minutes early at the meeting point.
